One day last week, Mathew LITTLE of Little Settlement on Maryland Road (York Co.) while employed in getting hemlock bark found it necessary to disengage from the stump of a tree which had been broken down by the wind; immediately on cutting away the butt, the tree canted over and fell on Mr. LITTLE's back and dislocated the spine; he survived the accident only a few minutes.
