Dorchester (West. Co.) - Richard PALMER, baker on the Penitentiary staff, died in Deputy Ross's quarters Friday afternoon last after an illness of three weeks. Mr. Palmer was an excellent officer. The deceased had been married to Mr. ROSS's niece only about three months at the time of his death. On Sunday morn. the first part of the burial service was said at the prison by the rector, Rural Dean Campbell, after which the remains, accompanied by the whole staff in procession and dress uniform, were escorted to the railway station for Kingston (Kent Co.) where Mr. Palmer was born and where his people reside. His widow and family have the sympathy of friends.
