Joseph N. THIBEAU was hanged at Annapolis. N.S. for the murder of Charlotte HILL. He walked steadily out to the scaffold. When the rope holding the trap was cut he fell about six feet breaking his neck. Not a muscle moved and in about 12 minutes the heart ceased to beat. The execution was attended by some roughs who took away the fence which partially screened the gallows from the eyes of a large number who had assembled to witness the the closing scene.
