Avery's Portage, May 13 - Ebenezer LYONS who lives this side of Doaktown a few miles, died suddenly, as did, John BLACK of Pleasant Ridge, age 50, of la grippe. He was on his own drive and some distance from home, but he set out on foot. It must have been all he could do to reach his home but he did so with great difficuulty to find his family all sick. Under the circumstances not one of them could get proper care and as they were in an out of way place no one knew of their trouble until it was too late. The result was that Mr. Black, himself, a boy aged 12, a daughter aged 25, another age 20, were all carried to their last resting place within a week and now the son that remains to the bereaved mother is seriously ill. Little hopes are entertained of his recovery.
