Mrs. Catherine FISHER whose funeral took place last Tuesday was one of the oldest persons in Eastport, Maine at the time of her death, having been born in County Wexford, Ireland in 1798. She came to this country at age of 15, landing at St. John whence she afterwards moved to Eastport. Her first husband served in the Black Hawk war. Her second husband and one of her sons were in the war with Mexico and another son, Thomas P. ROCHE, was the gallant captain of Company K, 6th Maine Regt. in the war of the rebellion, in which he received injuries from which he died. Her only surviving son is John ROCHE, who for many years has been in the employ of the Frontier Steamboat Co.
