Joseph MANUEL, jr. from Lower Bay du Vin (North. Co.) was out in McLean's Gully on Thursday last in a small boat shooting wild geese when the boat upset. He struggled very much to get out but in vain. At last his cries were heard and some people rescued him and carried him to a neighboring home, but in half an hour he expired. He was about 24 years of age and leaves a wife and one child. (see original for varying account)
