The funeral of J. WELLS of Carleton (St. John) took place yesterday afternoon and was a member of Tilley Lodge, I.O.G.T. for a number of years and members from the Union Reform, Pheonix, International, Maritime, Guiding Star and Victoria Lodges turned out to pay the last tribute to the deceased. The members assembled in Tilley Lodge room where they clothed in regalia and proceeded to the residence of the deceased brother, where a funeral service was concluded; the cortege proceeded to the Methodist burial ground. The pall bearers were: Robert TURNER, John FOY, Anthony FREDERICK, Wm CAMPBELL, Wm CORNFIELD and Wm LANE. (see original)
