On Friday 3 p.m. Capt. John HUTTON, St. Stephen (Charlotte Co.) was running down in his schooner to Hatheway's Island when, near Pendleton's Passage, outside of Deer Island, he had occasion to go forward, and by the giving way of the foot ropes, fell into the water and was drowned. His two sons were on board with him at the time, but the vessel was going, wing and wing, with a stiff breeze, at the rate of nine knots, and having the sails to look after, they saw nothing of the accident. - Charlotte Gazette.
