A distressing accident occurred at Earltown, Friday morn. 19th Feb., John eldest s/o late Robert MURRAY, Esq., having occasion to drive a hog to a neighbor's, tied a rope to the animals foot, the other end he held in his hand, and passing by a very steep bank, the hog started suddenly down the bank and dragged the young man after him. The rope in the mean- time got round his neck, and having lost his foothold, he was strangled in a few minutes. When he was found life was quite extinct and the hog was still fastened to him.
