News was received in this city last night of the death on Oakland, Cal. of Robert JEWETT, who is well known as the owner of the old Jewett mill, which is to be run on the site now occupied by Donald FRASER's new mill. The deceased returned from his work June 28th in apparently good health, but was sudenly seized with violent pains in the abdomen. Opiates were administered and the pain eased, but he gradually sank and passed away July 9th. Deceased leaves a family of four children, two adult daughters and a son about 12 years who have resided with him and Harry C. JEWETT, who has lately opened a grocery store on Queen Street, above Westmorland, in this city.
