The third civic funeral of the year took place in Portland (St. John) yesterday when the remains of Shadrach HOLLY were borne to their last resting place. The rector of his church, Rev. L.G. Stevens of St. Lukes conducted service at the residence and the casket was borne to St. Lukes Church, preceeded by the Portland Police force, Mayor Sturdee and the corporation of Portland, Mayor Thorne, Recorder Jack and members of the Alms House commission. Hon. David McLELLAN, James MANCHESTER, H.U. MILLER, Edwin FISHER, R.A. GREGORY and John A. CHESLEY were pall bearers. The procession moved to Rural Cemetery (Fernhill Cemetery) where interment took place.
