Edward H. WILMOT died at his residence Saturday morn. Deceased was born in Fredericton on Jan. 2nd, 1819. He was a half brother of Hon. L.A. WILMOT, a former Governeor of this province. His wife was Miss BLACK of Halifax, N.S. who died some three years ago. Mr. Wilmot graduated from University in 1839. For a short time he filled the chiar of mathematics and from 1859 to 1882 he was Registrar of the University. Besides other gifts he endowed a scholarshipo of $100 and the University Athletic Club have much to thank him or. His gift to the city of the Wilmot Park and an endowment of $10,000 for its support, will remind the citizen of Fredericton of his generosity. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, the Aldermans and City officials, the Barristers Society, the students of the University and many citizens attending. The interment took place in the old burial ground. Funeral services were conducted by His Lordship Bishop Kingdom, Revs. Partridge, Whalley and Roberts.
