d. Cornwallis, N.S., 15th Feb., Mary ELLS w/o Jonathan ELLS, age 67. She was first married to Joseph LOCKHART father of Deacon Jacob LOCKHART and subsequently to Jonathan ELLS when she became the mother of a large family. She professed religion in about 1820 under the labors of Rev. John Pineo. She became identified with the Congregational Church in which she remained until the writer organized the first Free Christian Baptist Church in this place in 1841. In 1850 she was suddenly seized with a paralytic stroke and confined to her bed for eleven years. (signed) J.B. Norton (see original)
