There was a thrill of indignation in the city yesterday when the news of the sad death of Mary Jane THEAL and the brutal manner in which she received the injuries which caused her death at the hands of her husband, Tertullus THEAL came generally known. A reporter of the 'Daily Telegraph' proceeded to Spruce Lake yesterday morn. and visited the Theal home. ... Without, in the sitting room, were assembled the relatives and a few of the friends and neighbors of the deceased. Mrs. Charles LORD, Mrs. Theal's mother, a pleasant looking well preserved old lady of 78 years was there; and John LORD and William LORD, two of her brothers; Mrs. Daniel LORD of Carleton; Mrs. George FAIR and Mrs. McCARTHY of Spruce Lake, who had been assisting the mother in nursing the wronged and wounded daughter. The Theal's adopted daughter, Mary THEAL was also there. ... At 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon Coroner Robinson of Lancaster held an inquest. Evidences given by Cornelius HAGERTY, Mrs. Fair, Mary C.
