Conductor YOUMANS of the Canada Eastern was killed this afternoon at a point on the road three miles east of Doaktown. It was on a special train that the accident occurred. Mr. Gibson and Supt. Hoben were on board. They had started for Blackville at 6:30 this morn. with Conductor Youmans in charge and David VANSTONE as engineer. ... The remains were taken to Doaktown where an inquest is being held. ... Deceased was about 30 years of age. He lost his father and mother some years ago; and a sister a few months ago. Two brothers survive. William YOUMANS is a fireman on the road and Fred YOUMANS is employed at Marysville. The remains are being brought in on the regular train this afternoon and will be taken to the Albion Hotel where he boarded. (see original)
