The death is announced of George OTTY, Esq., recently Judge of Probates in Kings Co., son of Capt. Allen OTTY, Royal Navy. Mr Otty was born on Strait Shore (St. John) 69 years ago. He studied law in St. John with Wm WRIGHT, advocate-general and was admitted to the bar in 1844. He practiced law for a time both in St. John and Kings Co., and afterwards took up his abode permanently in the latter county. He sat for some time in the Local Legislature and was a member of House of Assembly which Governor Gordon dismissed against the wishes of the Smith administration. He sat during a latter period and retired from public office on acceptance of Judgeship of Probates. He was also clerk of the Peace and for a time treasurer of Kings. His wife survives him, but he leaves no issue, his family consisting of an adopted daughter and adopted son.
