Friday 13th, Hampstead (Queens Co.) two young men went out for the purpose of shooting partridges. After they walked some distance, they stopped to examine some turnips that were growing in an adjoining field. Hugh CAMERON placed the butt of his gun on a stick for the purpose of climbing a fence, but the stick broke and caused the piece to go off and the whole of the charge was lodged in his neck, blowing off his thumb in its passage. The young man instantly expired, the side of his head being almost blown away and the veins and arteries in the neck severed. Being a member of the Orange Association, he was buried by his brethern of that Order on Monday 16th inst. - Woodstock Sentinel.
