The news of the death of W. Chapman ROBINSON was heard yesterday afternoon with general regret. The deceased was the father of W.J. Robinson. He was taken ill about a year ago and has since been confined to his residence. Mr. Robinson was born at Harvey (Albert Co.) April 12, 1815 and was consequently in his 74th year. He engaged in farming in Albert Co. and afterwards removed to a farm about four miles west of Moncton where he lived until about 19 years ago, since which time he retired from active labor and resided in Moncton. Mr. Robinson was twice married, his first wife being Almira CHAPMAN d/o Wm CHAPMAN. By her he had three sons, Wm J. ROBINSON, John ROBINSON and Albert ROBINSON, and one daughter, the latter now being dead. His second wife, who survives him, was Mary McCLELAN, sister of Senator McCLELAN of Albert Co. Of his sons, Wm. J. of Moncton is the only one residing in Canada, John and Albert being now in the Western States. The deceased also has two brothers and a sister living at Harvey. He was trustee and member of the Quarterly Board of the Moncton Methodist church. The funeral takes place Saturday 14 o'clock.
