The St. John Portland street crossing was again the scene of another railway accident, resulting in the death of Hugh MONTAGUE, age 85, who lived near the crossing. The deceased left the house just before the train came along and in attempting to cross the track, was struck and thrown some distance by the train. The driver, Frank CONNOR, saw the old man step upon the track before the engine but it was too late to stop. The deceased was deaf and doubtless could not hear the train.
