Calais, Me. - The death of Mrs. [Mary THOMPSON], relict of [Samuel GALLAGHER], Monday morn. last at the age of 78 years, removes another old citizen. Mrs. Gallagher was born in Scotland, but came to America when quite young. Some time after her arrival in St. John, N.B., she married Samuel Gallagher, who was at that time living in that city. Soon after their marriage they moved to the St. Croix and here Mrs. Gallagher has remained. Twelve children were borne of this marriage, eight of whom survive her. Samuel Gallagher died 13 years ago and since that time, with her only unmarried daughter, Miss Jessie, the deceased has occupied her present home on Main Street. The children who survive her are: [Mrs. Joseph BYRON], Boston, Mass.; [Geo. S.J. GALLAGHER], Augusta, Me.; [Robert GALLAGHER], Boston; [Mrs. M. SCOTFORD], Kansas City, Montana; [Mrs. J.A. SEARS], Calais; [Mrs. H.P. WOODMAN], Boston; [Joseph GALLAGHER], California and Miss [Jessie F. GALLAGHER], Calais. The funeral took place Wednesday 2 p.m., Rev. C.G. McCully and Rev. S.C. Davis officiating.
