Saturday afternoon about 4:30 o'clock the tug "Tiger" went through the falls for the last time. She was purchased from Tapley Bros. by Daniel ROONEY and will be broken up for junk. The "Tiger" was built at Marble Cove (St. John) on the spot where Mr. Cowan's mill now stands in the year 1855 by the late Stephen ROWAN. Her first captain was D.H. TAPLEY, who had charge of her for three years, when the old veteran, Capt. John STEVENS took command of her and held the position about 10 years. Since that time she has had several captains. She was taken to Hilyard's blocks where she will be destroyed this week.
