The public heard with regret yesterday of the death of Major OTTY which occurred yesterday morn. It appears deceased arose in his usual health and went to the barn, and while looking after his horses he was seized with an attack of apoplexy, of which he died in a few minutes. Major Otty was 62 years old and leaves a widow and five children. He was a son of the late Capt. Allen OTTY, R.N. For the past twenty years he has been caretaker of government stores of the 8th regt. of cavalry.
