T. BLANCHARD was born at Caraquet (Glouc. Co.) 48 years ago. His father was a farmer. He was educated at the common schools of the day and for eleven years taught school at Caraquet. He was elected to the House in 1870 and agaain in 1874, but resigned in 1876 and was appointed inspector of weights and measures for Restigouche and Gloucester counties. Afterwards he was made a preventive officer at Caraquet. For three years he was a councillor for Caraquet and has been a magistrate 25 years. He gave up his office last years when he ran for the House. Mr. Blanchard married Marie GAUVIN of Caraquet and has four children. He is a Conservative.
