Portland (St. John) - Joseph GILLIS, teamster for Messrs. Gunter & Co., died at his residence Saturday morn. About three weeks ago, Mr. Gillis, while splitting kindling wood, cut one of his fingers very badly and got a cold in it. Lockjaw was the result and his condition grew gradually worse until Saturday morn. when death ensued. He had had been a resident of Indiantown for a number of years. He was 45 years old, leaves a daughter and will be buried this morn.
