The body of the unfortunate man who was drowned Sunday morn. at the Governmemt Pier was recovered this morn. It proved to be that of John McLEOD of Coldbrook (St. John) who has been missing since Saturday night. The body was found near the spot where it went down right under the bow of the Italian barque "Fortuna M.". The barque went to sea last night and this morn. Hugh McCARTHY and George CONBOY started to drag in the spot where she was lying. They found the body about noon and after notifying Sgt. Baxter, who in turn notified Coroner Berryman, the remains were taken to the Dead House. The body was not at all bruised and was easily recocognized by the acquainrances of McLeod. The deceased worked in the Coldbrook Rolling Mill. He leaves a wife who is a d/o John DRUMMOND and three young children. He was not habitually a drinking man. Coroner Berryman will hold an inquest tonight.
