Yesterday, Florence McCARTHY, a painter, age 20, while going on board Messrs. Troop new ship "Empress of India", lying at the new pier, Water St., fell between the vessel and the wharf. He struck on a large wooden fender and then fell into the water and was drowned. The body was recovered in the afternoon and taken to the residence of his widowed mother on Erin St. (St. John)
