John S. TRITES, an old resident of Moncton and well known in Sussex as the father of John S. TRITES, one of our merchants, died Sunday. Deceased had been in the railway employ for 30 years. Latterly he was employed as trackmaster between St. John and Amherst and about two years ago was superanuated. Shortly after he had a stroke of paralysis. He has been a member of the First Baptist Church for about 50 years and has been connected with the Masons nearly thirty years. Two brothers and one sister survive him being Thomas T. TRITES of St. John, A.G. TRITES, Petitcodiac and Mrs. Rufus SMITH of Salisbury. He leaves five daughters and four sons viz., Mrs. W.B. GEROW, Mrs. F. ESTABROOKS, Mrs. J.S. TUPPER, Mrs. T. ESTABROOKS and Miss Maud TRITES. His sons are: Capt. Frank TRITES, J.S. TRITES, Carl TRITES and George TRITES. The funeral took place Tuesday under Masonic auspices.
