A young lady named Miss McQUAID d/o late John McQUAID of carleton (St. John) died at the Lunatic Asylum about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, having ben conveyed to the Institution on Saturday last. It is said that she was engaged to be married to a young man who went to the States some time ago, but kept up a correspondence with her. A short time ago she discovered that he had married abroad and had still continued to write her as formerly. The discovery preyed on her mind so hard that she became demented, was taken to the Asylum and died yesterday.
