The friends of John McL. GIRVAN s/o Alexander GIRVAN were surprised this morn. to hear of his death which occurred at his home last night about 21 o'clock after a brief illness. Mr. Girvan was taken ill Monday morn. with inflammation of the bowels which developed into peritonitis. The deceased, who would be 20 years of age on 5th of May next was a young man of unassuming and kindly disposition. He was the eldest of the family living. The funeral takes place at 14:30 o'clock Saturday, from parents residence, Main St.
