Hopewell (Albert Co.) Sketch of Old Shepody - William DANIELS, whose grant adjoined the Dickson grant, came from New London, Conn. in the year 1770. He and his wife were members of a Methodist society and for some years were the only persons in Shepody who sustained that character. A 'zealous society' was formed in 1782 and from that time Mr. Daniels continued to take an active part in prayer meetings and called people together on the Sabbath. He died in 1811 and was buried in the old Daniel burying ground. His family were William DANIELS, Joseph DANIELS, John DANIELS, Asa DANIELS, Demas DANIELS, Sara Elizabeth DANIELS, Olive DANIELS, Eunice DANIELS and Ann DANIELS. There are now no residents of the Daniels' name in Shepody, the family having moved to the eastern States many years ago, though many of that connection still remain. (Sarah Elizabeth might be Sara Daniels, Elizabeth Daniels)
