At ten o'clock yesterday morn. Judge WILMOT proceeded to try Timothy O'NEILL for the wilful murder of Patrick COTTER. Mr. WETMORE with whom was Mr. PETERS conducted the prosecution; Mr. THOMSON and Mr. CAMPBELL were engaged for the defence... The Jury having retired, returned into Court after nearly three hours deliberation with verdict of Guilty, but with a recommendation to mercy on account of the prisoner's youth. His honor then passed sentence, naming the 16th of July for the date of execution.
