A Hillsboro (Albert Co.) despatch of yesterday says: By the discharge of a gun in the hands of some unknown person Monday morn. at Osborne Corner, about seven miles from here, two boys were shot, one being a son of John OSBORNE, the other of Henry SHAW, both of Osborne Corner. The boys were at school and during the morning intermission went to a piece of the woods in the rear of the school house where they received the shot, but by whom and how they cannot tell as they did not see anyone around. The Shaw boy had one of his ears pierced by the shot, but with the Osborne boy the case is very serious. The shot entered the eye on the underside, piercing the eyeball, but it cannot be ascertained what direction the shot took, whether it took a direct course or went in obliquely. If it went in direct the doctor states there is little hope, as inflammation is likely to set in. The boy will lose his eye at best which is very sad. At last account the symptoms were bad. He is about 14 years of age. Dr. B.A. Marvin rendered the required surgical aid.
