The last rites of the Roman Catholic Church were performed on the remains of John W. HARNETT of St. Aloysius church, Richibucto (Kent Co.) 4th inst. Mr. Harnett had been sick for some time, but his death came as a surprise. Deceased was a gentleman of fine principals. As a school teacher in different parts of the country in years gone by he was brought very forcibly before the public. Of late years he was in the mercantile business. Rev. Father McAULEY of Chatham, uncle of the deceased, celebrated the mass of requiem, Fathers Bannon and LeBlanc in the Sanctuary. The pall bearers were M. FLANAGAN, Sheriff LEGERE, Frank McINERNEY, E. PINE, W.D. CARTER and Robert BEERS.
