Dorchester (West. Co.) N.B. June 18 - O.H. TAYLOR received a telegram from H.J. VIVIAN, New York this afternoon, informing him of the total loss of brig "G.P. Sherwood" with all hands except the mate STEEVES, who was picked up by Spanish barque "Raphael Palmer" and taken to New York, The "Sherwood" was commaned by Robert TAYLOR of this place and was loaded with hard coal on a voyage from Philadelphia to Halifax. The capatin's wife, his brother Daniel TAYLOR and a nephew were on board. It is supposed that all the crew belonged to Dorchester. The principal owners are Samuel TAYLOR, Capt. David E. TAYLOR, Alfred TAYLOR, Capt. Geo. WRIGHT of Dorchester and LeBaron VAUGHAN of Liverpool.
