Mr. and Mrs. Henry MAXWELL, Queen Square celebrated on Monday the 60th anniversary of their wedding. Both are in god health with unimpaired faculties and fairly active although Mr. Maxwell is in his 89th year and his wife is in her 82nd year. Mr. Jarvis was the officiatinbg clergyman at their marriage which took place in Queens Co. in 1835. Mr. Maxwell has been living in St. John 69 years. The aged couple had 12 children and all are alive except one, Mrs. HOLT who died at Selkirk, Manitoba. Three daughters live here, Mrs. R.W. McCARTHY, Mrs. Louis LINGLEY and Mrs. William P. COURT and two sons, Charles MAXWELL and Richard MAXWELL, also reside in St. John. Mrs. BURBRIDGE, wife of the judge of the exchequer court, Mrs. John H. HALE and Mrs. J.E. NARRAWAY live at Ottawa; James MAXWELL lives at Fredericton; S.M. MAXWELL at Westfield and Henry MAXWELL in Caliornia. The grandchildren are 42 in number.
