On Monday 24th March, Miss Fanny CRAWFORD of 45 Exmouth St. (St. John) city, after having been down King St. in the morn., complained of a severe pain in the head - a phtsician was called in but the patient died on Friday eve. after much suffering. As the family beloned to Springfield (Kings Co.) the body of Miss Crawford was interred at Norton on 31st March. The feeling in all circles was that the disease was not contagious, but as the illness of Miss Crawford's mother immediately followed and also that of Mr. MULLIN who boarded in the house and Miss Crawford's sister, Dr. L.N. Sharp made particular examination of the new cases... Meanwhile on 7th, Mr. Mullin who had become convalescent and who is a joiner, went to Apohaqui and stopped at the residence of Mrs. Sharp mother of E.N. SHARP. On 23rd, Mrs. Sharp took ill. The next case of illness was that of David LITTLE who has been much with Mullin in his illness, took ill of the same disease at his father's residence Millstream. (see original)
