It was our sad duty to carry to his last resting place on Monday 18th Jan., the late Isaac WATTERS. Our lamented friend was born at Westfield (Kings Co.) on 2nd April 1798. He spent his early life at what is known as Watters' Point, Long Reach. In early manhood he married a daughter of the late Capt. HARDING of Westfield and in the year 1837, he with his wife and family moved to Petersville (Queens Co.) and bought the grist mill, known as the Watters mill where he carried on a profitable business until the year 1873. In that year he sold his mill and moved to Fairville (St. John) where he died. Mr. Watters leaves five children, four sons and one daughter. Samuel WATTERS, the eldest, lives at Gaspereaux Station; Mathias WATTERS, at Fredericton (York Co.); Henry WATTERS, at Fairville; Valentine WATTERS at Loch Lomond and Mary Ann WATTERS w/o late R.T. FOWLER at Welsford. He also leaves 31 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Mr. Watters for the last 40 years was a member of the Methodist Church.
