On Monday last, John HARRINGTON, one of the oldest residents of Chatham (North. Co.) died in the 80th year of his age. He was a native of Bantry, Ireland and came to the Miramichi with his parents when he was in his tenth year. He was a leading stevedore of the port for 23 years when, on the establishment of the County Alms House he was appointed keeper. He leaves a widow, sister of John O'KEEFFE, deceased on Sunday, two sons and four daughters. One of the sons is Timothy HARRINGTON, music teacher, Chatham and the other, J.J. HARRINGTON, barrister, Bathurst (Glouc. Co.). Rev. Mother Benedicta of the House of the Angel Guardian, Halifax, who has made the sad event the occasion of a visit to Chatham; Sister Mary Agatha of Harbor au Bouche, N.S.; Mrs. MANN amd Miss HARRINGTON, assistant matron of the Alms House are daughters. - Advance
