Word has been received of the death at Albany, N.Y. on Monday last of James ADAMS, a former well known resident of this city. Before the fire Mr. Adams carried on a shoe business on King Street and sat for two years at the council board as an alderman for Queens. He was 68 years of age and had resided in the States since 1879, living sometimes with his son, Charles ADAMS at Troy, and sometimes with his daughter, Mrs. George PERKINS at Albany. Another son, James, lives in Kansas City. Mr. Adams' death was from the effects of a fall last summer. Mrs. Adams, who was in Albany with her husband, is believed to be in delicate health.
