On 8th inst. Nelson BROWN of Quaco Road (St. John) was killedin his mill. His brother left him in the mill to return tothe house, half a mile distant, whetting a saw. It appearsafter so doing, he lifted the gate to start her, and findingthe ice impeded her operation, he went under with his axe tocut it adrift. The ice yielding, the gate fell upon his headand broke his skull and the mill starting, the wheels caughthim and crushed him to atoms. Some children being near ran tothe house to give the alarm, and met the brother on his return who was the first to disentangle from the machinerythe mangled corpse of his brother. The deceased left a wifeand four children.
