Our Penobsquis (Kings Co.) correspondent writing on Friday says - The funeral of the late John McLEOD took place from his residence today 11 a.m. The pall bearers were Wm STONE, W.O. SCOTT, George WALLACE, John MURRAY, Charles E. FREEZE, Richard C. WELDON. The remains, which were enclosed in a ro\sewood casket, were conveyed to the F.C. Baptist Church where funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.T. Phillips, assisted by Rev. John Prince (Wesleyan). After service the procession reformed and conveyed the remains to the cemetery, a mile distant. The deceased had been a Justice of the Peace since 1856. He leaves a widow, two daughters and seven sons, all of whom, with the sxception of a son in Edinburgh, were present at the funeral.
