Miss Ellen FITZGERALD has recived a copy of the Challis, Idaho 'Silver Messenger' dated June 2, which contains the particulars of the death of her brother in that State: Peter Hughes arrived in Challis Sunday afternoon from Clayton. He brought the sad news that his partner, Richard FITZGERALD, was dead and that he died en route to their mines on Thompson Creek in a cabin, from a sudden attack of what appeared to be pneumonia last Friday morn., May 29, 7 o'clock. The remains were taken to Clayton and laid to rest in the cemetery Saturday afternoon. The deceased was about 66 years of age and a highly esteemed citizen of Custer Co., he having followed mining and prosepcting in this county for a long time. Mr. Hughes cared for him during his sickness. The deceased has a sister living in St. Andrews, N.B.
