David Thomas LEWIS, master mariner, died this morn. at the home of his son, William LEWIS at Providence, R.I. from paralysis. Capt. Lewis was born in St. Clears, Carmarthenshire, Wales in 1826 and in 1844 commenced to follow the sea. He settled in St. John in December 1853 and sailed out of this port until 1891. He was for a long time in the employ of the late Col. John GODDARD and of the late Timothy McCARTHY. The deceased leaves two sons and one daughter. He has been a member of Albion Lodge, F.& A.M. since 1864. The remains, which leave Povidence Friday morn. in charge of his son, will be brought here for interment.
