Shediac (West. Co.) June 25 - An accident occurred Saturday afternoon that resulted in the death of Alvina RICHARD, 12 year old s/o Paul RICHARD. It appears the lad with others was picking oysters at the Scoudouc bridge at low water. The boys were on the north side, but Richard crawled through the bridge to the south side and in so doing loosened a large hemlock log that the tide had lodged some feet up the side of the bridge. The log fell and crushed the head of the boy between it and another log that lay below. He was found shortly after, but life was almost extinct.
