At Oromocto Village (Sunbury Co.) 22nd inst., Alfred C. BARTLETT foster son of Mr. and Mrs. William BRYSON was drowned in the river. The fellow had passed a distance of five or six rods to the river, unobserved by his grandmother or any of the family and was, it appears, in the act of getting on board a wood boat which was laying at the wharf, when he fell into the water. His father, who had left him at the dinner table, after an absenceof 10 or 12 minutes at the Post Office, returned to find parties searching for his little boy. He hastened to the river and at the spot where some bubbles appeared, dove to the bottom and brought up the lifeless body of his child. The deceased was born in Haverhill, Mass. and was 1 year 11 mos. old. His remains were placed beside those of his mother in the Episcopal burying ground at Oromocto.
