The community was shocked Saturday eve. when the rumor was confirmed that a young woman, who had been seen in active life at the post office enquiring for letters some two hours previous, had taken her life, by casting herself from the river bridge, at its eastern end, into the swift running and deep water some 38 feet below. ... Diligent search was made for the body, Moore's mill being closed down and the whole crew assisting in the search, but it was not till Tuesday noon that the body was found by Wm ROGERS at Dibblee's bar, some three miles below town.
