A despatch received yesterday by the SUN states that George S. GRIMMER, Q.C. died at St. Andrews (Charlotte Co.) Tuesday night. ... Mr. Grimmer was admitted an attorney in 1847 and was called to the bar of N.B. in Oct. 1849. Since that time he has practiced law in Charlotte Co. He resided at one time in St. Stephen and afterward removed to St. Andrews. Some years ago he purchased the property of John Wilson at Chamcook where he lived until the house was destroyed by fire some three or four years since. He then removed to St. Andrews and resided with his son, Howard GRIMMER. The deceased was some years ago elected one of the representatives to the House of Assembly. He resigned his seat to accept the position of clerk of the circuit. He leaves a large family. His eldest son, W.C. GRIMMER is a barrister practicing at St. Stephen and is a police magistrate of Milltown. He holds the position of secretary treasurer of the county. His other sons are Howard and George GRIMMER. The remains of the deceased gentleman will be interred in the St. John Chapel burying ground, Chamcook on Friday afternoon. (see original)
