Moncton, April 14 - Edward McCARTHY of Moncton has received intelligence of the death of his brother, John J. McCARTHY which occured at Olean, New York a few days ago. The deceased was a native of Moncton, but left here over 30 years ago to follow the sea. After visiting many lands, Mr. McCarthy settled about 20 years ago at Driftwood, Pa., from there going to Olean, where he had done considerable business as a contractor and builder. He was an Oddfellow and member of the Knights of Honor and served as village trustee and excise commissioner in Olean.
