About 7 o'clock this morn., Officer Marshall was informed by a boy that a woman was lying dead in a yard back of the house near the Bethel on Duke St. (St. John) and occupied by Ned MULDOON. He went with the boy, and having seen the woman lying there dead, he notified Coroner Earle and Constable Powers who had the body removed to the Dead House. The body is that of Mrs. Eliza HAINES, a woman of about 50 years of age who lived with a colored woman in the upper part of Muldoon's house. She was seen alive by the occupants of the house yesterday afternoon when she started to go down town, This was the last time they saw her until this morn. when they found her lying dead in the yard. An inquest will be held at 5 o'clock this afternoon. (see original) (see Eliza HAYNES)
