Sussex (Kings Co.) Jan. 4 - Your corespondent is indebted to Ora P. KING, barrister for the privilege of sendies copies of commission issued in the reign of George the 2nd nearly 135 years ago. I find by reference to other papers that the Robert Scott mentioned was at that time a resident of Boston, Mass., the dependency of Great Britain and will appear a loyal and prominent citizen who took up arms in defence of his cuntry. It will be more interesting to know that Oliver SCOTT, at present a prosperous farmer residing in Penobsquis, is a grandson and Sheriff FREEZE is a great-grandson of above mentioned Robert Scott. "... Given at the court of St. James, 26th Feb. 1760. Entered into the office of Thomas Gore, Comg. General, ... Robert SCOTT, Gent., Ensign to Capt. Commandant Le Geve, Independent Company of Foot to be forthwith raised, ... We by these presents consitute and appoint you to be lieutenant to that company."
